We get filled with false mentalities and we can’t see past them. The whole purpose for my blog is to try and open peoples minds so that they can get a sense of reality. I’m not trying to force my views on you. I’m just putting information out there and what i think about it on my blog. It’s for you to interpret and if you don’t agree please feel free to question me and I’ll answer as best i can. I’m always looking for criticism because that helps me strengthen my views on life or make me rethink my views still making them stronger.

Use Your Brain!!

"‎”Life without death is not life. don’t you see? Listen to me, no man nor any living thing in this world preserves their life forever. Only to men is it given to know that we must die and that is a precious gift. It is life that is both our torment and our treasure was never meant to endure for eternity. life is a wave on the sea. would you force the sea to grow still to save one wave? “”

- Tales from Earthsea

"I USED TO WONDER (I used to wonder)

I have always liked 2pac’s music ever sense i was a kid. It wasn’t until recently about a couple years back that i finally understood why. This song has to be at the top of my list of favorite 2pac songs because this song opened my mind to what 2pac is about. Because of this song I was able to listen to his music in a whole different way than before. He got me to think about stuff instead of just putting on a magic show with words that i couldn’t relate too like other rappers do. His music stimulates my brain and opened my mind so that I can question things instead of being a puppet.

rarified:

Socrates was said to hold knowledge in high esteem.

One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, “Socrates, do you know what I just heard about your friend?”

“Pause a moment,” Socrates replied. “Before telling me anything I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”

“Triple filter?”

“That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say.

The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”

“No,” the man said, “actually just heard about it and…”

“All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not.

Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?”

“No, on the contrary…”

“So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?”

“No, not really.”

“Well,” concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”

This is why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.
